In a post on his X account, posted on February 21st, Dr. Abah described the multiple security checks and screenings he went through before boarding his flight. He noted that the process, which included disembarking from his taxi to go through a screening point, took around 2 and a half hours when the airport was not busy.
Dr. Abah also expressed his surprise at the strict security measures in place, including fierce-looking soldiers every few meters, who pushed everyone off the side of the road during a "presidential movement".
"I thought that it was unwise to start challenging 'constituted authority' here because I was caught up in 'Presidential movement' here. It delayed us for an hour," he wrote.
Dr. Abah advised travelers to be humble and to leave their hotels with plenty of time to spare before their flight. He also noted that the airport's approach seemed to be to clear the road and its setbacks of all living beings during presidential movements.
The influencer's post has sparked a lively discussion on social media, with many travelers sharing their own experiences at Uganda's airport.
