Parliament Mourns for Ssegirinya, Speaker and Minister Pledge Support to His Children

The Late Hon. Ssegirinya Mohammed has been in Parliament for a short period of time when it comes to his suggestions and debates against bills. He also made popularity as he was labeled as the Mr. Update while still in Media hustles.

Kampala, Uganda - The Ugandan Parliament held a special mourning session yesterday to honour the late MP for Kawempe North Constituency, Hon. Ssegirinya Mohammad. During the session, two senior government officials made commitments to support the late MP's children.

Speaker of Parliament, Anita Annet Among, pledged to pay the school tuition fees for one of Ssegirinya's children, Naggirinya. Meanwhile, the Minister of Technology and National Guidance, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, vowed to pay the school fees for another one of Ssegirinya's children until they complete their education.


The parliamentary mourning session was a somber occasion, with MPs and other officials paying tribute to the late MP. The commitments made by Speaker Among and Dr. Baryomunsi were seen as a gesture of goodwill and support to the late MP's family during this difficult time.

The late Hon. Ssegirinya Mohammad was a prominent figure in Ugandan politics, and his passing has been met with an outpouring of condolences from across the country. 

The parliamentary mourning session was a fitting tribute to his memory, and the commitments made by Speaker Among and Dr. Baryomunsi will help to ensure that his children are supported in their education.

In a tense showdown, the US Supreme Court set to decide on the fate of TikTok by Sunday 19th 2025. The popular social media app, used by over 170 million Americans, faces a federal ban unless the court acts. TikTok has been temporary banned in US United States - The ban, which has taken effect on Sunday, would prevent new downloads of TikTok on Apple and Google App Stores .
