UNEB Unveils Online System for Replacing Lost Certificates

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has launched an online application system for Letters of Verification (LV), streamlining the process for individuals needing to replace lost or damaged result slips and certificates. The Minister of Education and Sports in Uganda holding a result book, one on left. This development is a significant move toward digitizing educational services in Uganda. Accessible through UNEB’s e-services portal ( eservices.uneb.ac.ug ), the system requires applicants to upload scanned copies of key documents. The key documents including the introductory letter from their former school addressed to the UNEB Executive Director, a valid identity card, and a police letter for cases of loss or damage. Payment varies depending on the type of verification - 50,000 UGX for an ordinary letter, 100,000 UGX for a hard card substitute certificate, and 300,000 UGX for special or political verifications. Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikkiro (prime minister) of Buganda Kingdom, delivered a powerful address today, dispelling long-standing rumors that Buganda had been erased from Uganda’s maps. He recounted how the Kabaka, during his birthday celebrations in Villa Maria that year, questioned the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) on the matter. Following discussions at Bulange, UBOS officials clarified the situation, confirming Buganda’s rightful place on Uganda’s map. “No one can remove Buganda from the map,” Mayiga declared, with the Luganda phrase “Tewali Ayinza Kuggya Buganda Ku Maapu” prominently displayed on screens. Mukono Police Arrest Five Suspects In Connection With Murder Of Seeta High School Teacher

Police in Mukono have arrested five suspects in connection with the murder of Oloya Ivan, a 30-year-old teacher at Seeta High School, Mbarara Campus. The incident occurred on March 22, 2025, in Bajjo Cell, Nyenje Ward, Goma Division, leaving the community in shock. According to eyewitnesses, Oloya Ivan was attacked and killed near the gate of Code High School, where his wife, Abbey Mercy, works as a teacher.  The suspects arrested include Kasumba Paul, 21, a casual worker, Mabale Simon, 23, a casual worker, Kibuuka Tom, 38, a mechanic, Lukodda Simon, 18, a casual worker, and Kandoole Charles Dani, 16, a casual worker. Police utilized canine units to track down the suspects, leading to their successful arrest. The body of the deceased was taken to Mulago for a postmortem examination, and investigations are ongoing.  The police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
